FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions about Palisade Posh.

"It is never too late to cultivate a life of comfortable luxury."

Palisade Posh was founded on the belief that life’s later chapters are meant for new discoveries. We are here to champion the "Reinvention"— it is the courageous act and wish of one Mid-Century Modern Woman, Kim Putnam, to inspire all those at a crossroad who are ready to reinvent themselves, pursue their passions, and take the leap into a new way of living the next chapter of their lives.

  • Artist and Art Professor Kim Putnam created Palisade Posh out of an insatiable desire to prove that our environment is the fuel for our creative fire. This "Shangri-La" on the Western Slope is a living lab for creative living, designed to help you pause the noise of the world so you can hear your own internal creative spirit.

  • We built this for the seekers. If you are transitioning careers, embracing an empty nest, or simply needing a beautiful space to dream up your next chapter, Palisade Posh is your home away from home. We are a soft landing for those ready for a hard and well-earned pivot. Book Posh Cottage for your next stay in Palisade.

  • It means we believe your life is your greatest piece of art. We curate every detail—the original paintings, the garden rows, the mountain views—to remind you that you have the permission (and the tools) to live more intentionally, more artistically, and more boldly.

  • We didn't just build a cottage; we built a sanctuary for our guests to relax, renew, enjoy and be inspired.

Staying here is an investment in your own inspiration. You should stay at Posh Cottage if you value:

    • The "Living Gallery" Experience: All art is local, original, and part of your daily environment.

    • Restorative Peace: Located on East Orchard Mesa, offering deep quiet and 360-degree views.

    • Comfortable Luxury: Thoughtful design that feels like a home, not a hotel.

Direct Connection: Steps away from the soil and blossoms of a working market garden.

  • Posh Cottage is a curated "farmstay" combining the intimacy of a private home with the sophistication of an art studio. It is a one-bedroom, ADA-accessible luxury retreat.

  • Absolutely. Because we are situated on East Orchard Mesa away from major city lights, the stargazing is world-class. On a clear night, the Milky Way is visible directly from your private patio. It is a humbling and inspiring experience that serves as the perfect backdrop for deep reflection.

  • Sadly, no visiting pets are not permitted. While Daisy, our springer spaniel, loves making new human friends, we currently maintain Posh Cottage as a pet-free environment for guests to ensure the highest standard of cleanliness and to respect the comfort of our resident farm dog and neighboring livestock.

  • Yes! We offer a "Garden Harvest Experience.” During harvest season, visitors can make reservations to harvest seasonal fruits, vegetables, herbs, and flowers directly from our gardens. Guests staying at Posh Cottage have full access to the gardens as part of their experiential amenities.

  • Our "Petite Orchard" features peaches, cherries, pears, apricots, and apples. We also grow an heirloom veggies, berries, table grpaes, fresh cut flowers, and herbs.

  • Posh Studio I is Kim’s micro creative space. Studio tours can be booked on an individual basis. Starting spring of 2026, she is building a larger creative space to host future art retreats and artist residencies. Soon, Posh gardens will also be hosting outdoor floral design workshops and weekend art classes.

  • Our online store is temporarily closed for ‘reimagining’ but will soon be restocked with original art, artisanal home decor, and more. Follow Palisade Posh on Facebook and Instagram for updates.

  • Palisade is a rare gem where high-desert drama meets lush agricultural abundance. We chose East Orchard Mesa because it embodies the "slow living" movement. Between the towering Bookcliffs and the massive Grand Mesa, there is a unique energy here — a literal "microclimate" that allows both peaches and people to thrive against the odds.

  • It is a town of makers, growers, and dreamers. Whether it’s the "Million Dollar Wind" that protects the orchards or the community of world-class vintners and artists, Palisade encourages a pace of life that is both productive and peaceful.

  • Often called the "Fruit Loop," this scenic byway consists of three distinct routes that wind through the valley’s best orchards and vineyards. Many guests rent e-bikes from Palisade Bike Rental to explore the 25+ miles of paved roads.

    • Wineries & Distilleries: Our absolute favorites include:

      • Restoration Vineyards

      • Terra Vin

      • Whitewater Hill Vineyards

      • Peach Fork Orchards & Vineyards

      • Mafia Princess Wines

      • Peach Street Distillers

    • The Food Scene:

      •  The Palisade Pie Shop: Legendary fruit pies and enormous cinnamon rolls.

      • Slice of Life Bakery: Incredible artisan breads, pastries, and lunch specials.
